We – Gerhard and Christine Mag. Strasser – went to India in January 2002, leaving behind some dreams (like the one to make music) to live our biggest dream: walking on the spiritual path and learning the ancient knowledge of the soul. What we found was an amazing place to fulfil this dream and…MUSIC! For the first time we heard Indian devotional songs, called Bhajans. They fascinated us with their energy that starts building up, when you sing those simple melodies and ancient Sanskrit-words. Singing those songs for God was definitely a new experience for us. The more we opened our hearts, the more energy we received from this music. (And after a while some new songs came into existence – with English words of course, which are a bit easier for us to write.) Many people shared this experience with us and asked for a CD to take home with them. So we decided to record some of the songs. As a result we made 2 CDs with some of our favourites and some of our own songs.

Back in Austria, we were surprised how many people showed interest in this kind of music, which is connected to India!

We wanted to share our joy of singing and the beautiful energy that comes from this music and so we started giving concerts. We realized, that most of the people liked the songs because they helped them relax and forget about there worries. (The mind becomes very quiet, if it doesn’t understand the words, so it has to leave all the action to the heart and soul.)

So finally after a long time we are making music, which really fills our hearts with joy. (I, Cristine, always wanted to become a singer; it was my only dream for a very long time. Gerhard always loved music and finally has the chance to be an active part of it)

Here’s some more about us:

We both grew up in Austria, a country we love for all its beautiful nature and friendly people. We met in 1993 at university, where we studied sociology and social education. It didn’t take long to find out that we belong to each other, and here we are, still crazy about each other. Our relationship is the solid rock, we build our lives upon. All our energy and inspiration comes from this union. And we are blessed to have the same ideas about life, the same longings and hopes. So we are walking the spiritual path together, looking for who or what we really are – the most interesting and challenging journey. But we also love to laugh, to take it easy and enjoy the beauty of the world. We travel a lot, spent a year in Spain, one in Japan and 3 in India. We love to help whoever needs us, and share the blessings we receive every day.

By the way: the Bhajans are usually sung by many people as a group. One person is the lead singer and the other ones answer. This is where the true power of the songs unfolds – by singing them! So join in!
